Hi guys! Long time no hear.. Hope you're all doing good!

As you can see on the title, I am here to share with you my thoughts and journey about having my own business, that I just opened last month. So without further a do, let's get crackin!

Last August, as soon as I returned from holiday, in the Philippines; a good friend of mine got in touch, she wanted to meet with me. Unfortunately, she had to let go of her business for a personal matter, and asked me if I was interested in taking over her treatment room. I can tell you now, it was a long and hard decision to make, but I decided to go for it. We would never know if it would work or not, if we didn't at least give it a try. So we did. Thankfully, my husband backed me up all the way and we have great people who supported us and helped us to make this happen. We are so grateful and we can't thank them enough. So.. on the 18th of September we launched my treatment room inside the building of Kaizen Kickboxing School in South College Street Elgin. I love this building because it is secured and has security pin code, so anyone can't just wander in off the street, except of course the clients. I feel safe. This building is also very historic, it used to be the Two Red Shoes Ballroom, and the "Love Me Do Boys", THE BEATLES, played here on Thursday 3rd January 1963. How awesome!I am also a Beatles fanatic!! My family and my childhood friends were also obsessed with this band!! I remember listening to my childhood friends playing their songs on their guitars! This is something I will never forget, I was brought up listening to their music almost constantly! I will take it as a good omen.

Anyway, back to our new business. I launched the beauty room on the 18th of September and officially opened to the public on the 20th. Unfortunately, as I am working on my own, it has to be by appointment to avoid inconvenience and disappointment. To answer people's questions, yes, it is only me. No other staff at the moment. As this moment in time I am still in the process of experimenting and see how this business goes.

To all the people who don't know me yet, let me introduce myself. Hi! My name is Myra Murison. I am Filipina-British who is happily married to a Scottish man for the past 12 years. I came here to the United Kingdom in 2005. Since then I'm living with my husband in the countryside, which I love! For the first eight years, I worked as a care assistant. In the September of 2013, I decided to study Beauty Therapy at the University of the Highlands & Islands (UHI), Moray College here in Scotland. Because I discovered I loved doing makeup, and writing blogs. I am also obsessed with watching the beauty gurus on YouTube! I also love fashion and have done a number of fashion videos. Anyway, my husband advised me to study Beauty Therapy, and since then, my eyes have been opened. I love it! I never thought there was so much to it. It wasn't easy! It was very challenging, but I loved every single moment of it! I must admit, there was blood and tears shed, but I never regretted a single moment of it. Looking back now, I never thought I would be able to do it, but I put my mind body and soul into it. Nothing impossible! As they say "Hard Work is the KEY to Success"!

Most people think beauty therapy is about slapping on some lipstick and powdering someone's face. I can assure you that it is far more difficult than that. When I began doing Level 3, I thought I was studying to become a doctor, there was so much to learn. One of the reasons I didn't do nursing, was because I didn't want to study Anatomy and Physiology! However I had to study it, in order to pass my HNC. I did it and I survived! Exams, written work, case studies, health and safety and so on.. Despite all of those deadlines, the in depth study of muscle tissue, skin, hair, and the lymphatic system, I made it. Now here I am, out in the world, trying to make a living from the skills I have learned. So far, it has been a lot of fun. I am enjoying my new business, and slowly building up my client base. Here is a photo of me from my graduation day.

To wrap up this blog, I'm going to list all the treatments that I am doing right now. So, if you want to have a treatment with me, please don't hesitate to contact me on 07504 659911 or message me on my Facebook page "Beauté Myra Murison". Looking forward to meeting you.
