First night in Skye. First campsite. We finally rested after a long journey from Morayshire to Inverness to the Isle of Skye. Estimated drive was 3 and a half hours. We left home around 12 noon. But before we started our journey we dropped by our friends to collect the tent and camping stuff. We were so thankful to them coz we didn't have to invest. Maybe one day if we really have to. Anyway, we also did some messages like food, snacks and ice for our cooler to keep our food and sodas cool and safe. Basically we got all the necessities to survive for two nights in Skye. How fun! We arrived at our final destination for the night just before 6 o'clock.
The main reason we camped in Skye rather than staying in a Hotel, Cottages or B&B was it's just way too expensive in the Summer Season. That's why a lot of tourists tend to stay in campsites instead. And I lost count of how many campsites we had passed by. We had to book the pitch to Staffin campsite in advance coz they are often fully booked. It's a small site and quite secluded. It was peaceful.
The only downside to Skye is the midges. While me and my husband were trying to put up the tent the midges were attacking us! Luckily, I bought a hat with net to keep the midges at bay. Bugs spray helped us too and the coil repellent was our savior.
Here's me modelling the hat not really haha. The amount of midges there is unreal!

Us settling inside the tent. It was our very first camping together in Scotland. I really love the outdoor adventure and I think we will do it again some time. Somewhere that has less midges. Haha.

Isle of Skye to be continued..
